Our Author
Richland Mosley is a dual-force — a general dentist and self published author whose work blends wellness, lifestyle, faith, and romance into one voice.
A graduate of Spelman College, Richland uniquely bridges excellence with creativity.
Through her own journey, she teaches women how to become the best version of themselves and the women God created them to be.
In 2020, Richland launched her publishing company, Above The REM Publishing, during the COVID pandemic with only a couple of hundred dollars and a dream.
During this time she was rebuilding her career as a dentist after being laid off from her previous job. She wasn’t making a lot of money as a dentist.
She had just started working with her dental mentor and her job was more about gaining knowledge and skills as a dentist and not the money. She was still living at home with her parents, feeling the burden of student loan debt, and trying to “get her life together”.
Her vibrant personality and unique ability to tell stories and faith in God is what kept her going through this time.
Her company continues to grow as she has launched her Savior Book Series. The first book, Savior A Perfect Love Story, was published in 2022 and she has since published five other books in the series with others on the way!
Her Impact
Driven by a deep passion to serve others, in addition to writing, Richland participates in volunteer work as a dentist, as well as other community service around Houston.
In 2024 and 2025, her publishing company planted two Little Free Libraries to empower the youth in underrepresented and underserved communities. Reading and education and gaining knowledge is something she wants others to experience to improve their lives and the lives of others.
In 2026, she was blessed to go on a Dental Mission trip to Kenya where she provided free dental services for those in need and without access to dental care.

My Story
I’m Dr. Richland Ebony Mosley,
affectionately known as Dr. Rich.
I’m a proud Texan.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas.
I am an HBCU grad. I graduated from Spelman College.
I am a proud Christian.
I gave my life to God at a young age.
I am a dentist.
I earned my doctorate from Texas A&M College of Dentistry.
Although I am a practicing dentist,
I also have a passion for writing.
My love for writing started when I was a child, and I told my parents I wanted to be the next Dr. Seuss. In 1997, I won the Best Fiction competition for Texas Monthly Magazine when I was in the 6th grade, and my passion for writing has continued to grow as I’ve gotten older.
From a young age, I loved to read. As a kid, I would spend hours reading all types of books like The Babysitter’s Club, the Goosebumps series, and the American Girl: Addy Book Series.
But when I became a teenager, I fell in love with romance books, especially those by Brenda Jackson, Beverly Jenkins, Rochelle Alers, and many more.
My passion for reading goes hand in hand with my passion for writing.
I am not trained as a writer. My writing solely stems from my passion and love for the craft.
My goal is to empower you through my writing!
I want to help you live your best life! I want you to dream big and aspire to be all that God created you to be! I want you to know that anything is possible with God!

When I’m not writing, I’m reading, volunteering, practicing dentistry, taking Pilates classes, spending time with my amazing family and friends, working out at the gym, enjoying self-care, and getting dressed up and going to events.
