Me and My Future Husband Prayer 19: Guard Our Mouths

Hi Friends! 

This is Day 19 of the Me and My Future Husband Prayer Series.

Heavenly Father,

Let me and my future husband guard our mouths. Don’t let unwholesome talk come out of our mouths. Let us only speak what helps build others up according to their needs. Let what we speak benefit those who listen. Don’t let us answer before listening, for that is foolish. Let us find pleasure in understanding others, not in airing our own opinions. Don’t let us speak reckless words. Let us use our words to bring healing and not harm. Let us be prudent and know when to hold our tongues and when to speak. Please rid us of all filthy language. Let us speak life and not death. Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be pleasing in your sight. Let us always speak the truth in love. Let us speak kind words. Let us give gentle answers. Don’t let us speak harsh words. Let our speech always be full of grace and seasoned with salt. Let us always know how to answer everyone because of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Let us both keep a tight rein on our mouths. Let us make every effort to say and do what leads to peace.
