Hi Friends!
Today, we’re going to discuss Enoch in the Bible!
I’ve always been intrigued by Enoch and his life.
He is mentioned in Genesis 5:21-24, Hebrews 11:5, and Jude 1:14-15.
Not much is said about him in the Bible, but what is said about him is very powerful.
Enoch was a man of God.
He was committed to God and walked closely with Him.
The Bible says Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
Enoch was so close to God that God didn’t allow him to experience death. God allowed Enoch to be taken directly to Heaven.
Wow!
Isn’t that amazing?
What an extraordinary privilege!
Enoch did not have to experience death.
This only happened to one other person in the Bible: Elijah the prophet, who was taken to Heaven in a chariot.
Enoch was the epitome of being in the world but not of it.
It is believed that Enoch was a teacher and prophet.
He was faithful to God and prophesied about the things that ungodly people would face.
Enoch stood firm in his faith. He boldly proclaimed God’s judgment. He did not conform to the world around him.
Jude tells us that Enoch prophesied the Lord’s judgment to a wicked generation.
This means that Enoch did the right thing even in a wayward generation.
He was a light in a dark world.
He lived a righteous life, even when those around him didn’t. He was devoted and faithful to God.
Enoch is an inspiration to us all.
Enoch pleased God. Enoch also had great faith, and faith is pleasing to God.
From his life, we can see that having faith in God and walking with God is very powerful!
This is what God wants for us.
We need to build an intimate relationship with God and walk closely with Him.
Enoch did it, and so can we.
Enoch had a close, intimate fellowship with God, which meant that he spent a significant amount of time with Him.
His life shows us that God rewards those who please Him.
God rewarded Enoch by not allowing him to experience death.
Enoch’s life shows us that we are given great rewards when we please God.
God will reward us if we seek Him, obey Him, and live by faith.
Now, keep in mind we can’t earn God’s favor or promises. He gives us these things because He is good and loves us.
But the rewards shouldn’t be our goal. Our goal should be to get closer to God.
One of the most incredible things we can do in our lives is seek God and get to know Him.
As we seek God, we gradually release our hold on worldly things, allowing God to transform us into the image of Christ.
Which is the true goal.
As we grow closer to God, we find pleasure in walking with Him, spending time with Him, and dwelling in His presence.
Then we can let go of the things that displease God and focus on doing the things that please Him.
It’s a privilege for us to get to know our Creator and spend time with Him. We shouldn’t take that privilege for granted.
We want to develop a deeper relationship with God and walk with Him in a closer, more intimate way.
The Bible says that Enoch walked faithfully with God for 300 years (Genesis 5:21-22).
Enoch’s life should encourage us to live a life that pleases God and walk faithfully with Him.
When we live righteously, it’s not in vain.
When we make the right choices and do the right things, we please God.
Enoch was a great man of faith and an excellent example for us to follow.
We want to live lives that honor and please God.
We strive to bring glory to God in all that we do.
Enoch’s life reminds us that it is possible to live faithfully to God despite the culture around us.
We aspire to live a life of faith and integrity, just as Enoch did.
Until next time, happy reading!
XO,
Dr. Rich 💋
