Song: I’m Every Woman by Whitney Houston

Hi Friends!

March is Women's History Month, and I want to give a shout-out to all of the beautiful women out there!

Personally, I love being a woman, and I've been blessed to have some fantastic women in my life: my amazing mom, grandma, wonderful aunts, cousins, and friends.

In my books, I write about beautiful, intelligent, godly, and powerful women.

In today's blog post, I want to discuss two women in the Bible who I admire: Deborah and Jael.

They were two women who stepped up when God and their people needed them. Although it was rare to see a female leader in Israel and a woman bring them victory in battle, Deborah and Jael defied the odds.

Their story is told in Judges 4 and 5. I encourage you to read them in their entirety if you haven't already.

Deborah was a wife and a judge of Israel. She held court under the Palm of Deborah, and the Israelites came to her to have their disputes decided.

At this time, the Canaanites were fighting against the Israelites, and Sisera was the commander of the Canaanite army.

The word of the Lord came to Deborah, and she prophesied and told Barak that God would give him victory against Sisera.

Barak was a mighty Israelite man, but he wouldn't go to fight the Canaanites without Deborah.

When Deborah heard this, she told Barak, "Certainly, I will go to battle with you, but the honor won't be yours. The Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman."

Barak was okay with that, so he and Deborah went to battle.

As Sisera ran away from Barak in battle, he ran into Jael's tent.

Jael was a wife and a courageous woman of God. She was wise and ushered Sisera into her tent, giving him milk to drink and letting him lay down to rest from his fighting.

While he was asleep, she killed him with a tent peg, and the Israelites defeated their enemies, the Canaanites.

Jael was the woman God used to deliver Sisera into his enemy's hands.

Deborah and Jael were both powerful women of God. They were brilliant, wise, bold, and courageous women who went to battle for their people.

I want to be a woman like Deborah and Jael. I love their courage, boldness, intelligence, confidence, and faith in God.

I can see why God used them to bring His people victory over their enemies.

And I pray that God will use us as well.

Well, that's all I have for now.

XO,

Dr. Rich 💋
